GST in Maharashtra
GST for Mumbai businesses, done right
Businesses registered in Maharashtra have GSTINs starting with 27. Sales to customers within Maharashtra carry CGST and SGST; sales to Gujarat, Karnataka, Goa and Madhya Pradesh or any other state carry IGST. Milaan ERP reads the customer’s state from their GSTIN or address and applies the right tax on every bill.
Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, Diwali and the wedding season are Mumbai’s biggest shopping periods. Since 22 September 2025, most goods are at 5% or 18% GST, so check that your item rates are up to date before the next busy season.
Tip: E-way bills are needed for inter-state movement of goods over ₹50,000. Maharashtra may set its own limit for movement within the state, so check the current rule.
