Why we built it
A medical store is not a normal shop
A grocery shop can get by with a simple billing app. A medical store can’t. You sell thousands of small items, each one has a batch number and an expiry date, and some of them need a prescription and a register entry every single time. Get one of these wrong and you lose money, or worse, you get into trouble during an inspection.
Most chemists we talk to have the same story. Expired stock is found only when someone cleans the shelf. The H1 register is filled in at night from memory. Purchase bills from three distributors are typed in by hand, and nobody is fully sure what the real stock is.
Milaan ERP fixes this by doing the boring work in the background. You enter a purchase bill once, with batch, expiry and MRP. From then on the software knows exactly what you have, picks the oldest batch at the counter, fills the H1 register while you bill, and tells you what to return to the distributor before the return window closes.
You don’t need to be good with computers. If your counter staff can use WhatsApp, they can bill on Milaan ERP after a short training session.

Open the shop 9:00 am
The dashboard shows yesterday’s sales, today’s near-expiry items and medicines that have fallen below the minimum stock you set. You know what to order before the first customer walks in.

Distributor delivery arrives 11:30 am
Enter the purchase bill with batch, expiry, MRP, free quantity and discount. Stock and the supplier’s account update together. If the rate has gone up, you see it immediately.

Evening rush 6:00 pm
Staff search by brand or salt, sell loose tablets where needed and print the bill. For H1 drugs the software asks for patient and doctor name before saving. No register to fill later.

GST & compliance
GST on medicines, sorted
Medicines, surgical items and the cosmetics or health drinks you keep on the side can all carry different GST rates. Rates also change from time to time, as they did in September 2025 when most medicines moved to the 5% slab.
In Milaan ERP you set the HSN code and GST rate on each item once. Every bill after that is calculated correctly, and your month-end returns are ready to hand over to your CA. If a rate changes again, you edit the item and the new rate applies from the next bill. Old bills stay as they were.

Can Milaan ERP track batch numbers and expiry dates for every medicine?
Yes. You enter the batch number, expiry date and MRP once when you save the purchase bill. After that every strip you sell is cut from the right batch, and the software warns you about stock that will expire in the next 30, 60 or 90 days.
Does it keep a Schedule H1 register?
Yes. When you bill a medicine marked as Schedule H1, the software asks for the patient name and the doctor’s name and saves them with the bill. You can print or export the H1 register for any date range whenever a drug inspector asks for it.
Can I sell loose tablets instead of the full strip?
Yes. You can sell by strip or by tablet. The price per tablet is worked out from the strip MRP and the stock is reduced in tablets, so your count stays correct.
How does Milaan ERP handle GST on medicines?
You set the HSN code and GST rate on each item once. Every bill then shows the correct tax, and at the end of the month you can export GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B summaries for your CA. When rates change, you update the item master and the new rate applies from the next bill.
Can I return expired medicines to my distributor?
Yes. Pick the supplier, select the expired or near-expiry batches and the software makes a purchase return note. Stock goes down straight away and the supplier’s account shows the credit you are owed.
Will it work if the internet goes down?
If you choose the offline desktop plan, everything runs on your own computer and no internet is needed. The cloud plan needs internet, but a mobile hotspot is enough for billing.
How much does Milaan ERP pharmacy software cost?
The offline desktop plan starts at ₹9,999 as a one-time payment and online cloud plans start at ₹12,999 per year, both before 18% GST. Batch and expiry tracking is in the desktop Standard plan and above, and barcode billing in the desktop Standard and cloud Business plans and above. The cloud plans come with a free 7-day trial.
Can you move my data from my old pharmacy software?
Usually yes. If your old software can export your item list, stock and customer list to Excel, our team will import it for you during setup, so you do not have to type thousands of medicine names again.
