A hardware store already carries more items than almost any other shop: every size of screw, hinge, pipe and fitting, in boxes, pieces, kilos and metres. Open a second or third branch and you now have that catalogue in several places, each with its own stock, rates and contractor accounts.
Without one system, branches give different rates to the same contractor, an item sits unsold in one store while another turns customers away, and a contractor who is overdue at one branch keeps buying at another.

GST across branches
Branch transfers and GST, handled properly
When stock moves from your warehouse to a branch in the same state, it goes on a delivery challan. When it moves to a branch in another state, the law treats it as a sale between two GST registrations, so it needs a proper tax invoice. Getting this wrong is one of the most common GST problems for growing chains.
Milaan ERP knows which GSTIN each store belongs to. It picks a challan or a tax invoice for each transfer on its own, and makes GST reports separately for each registration, along with one combined view for you.

Can each branch see stock in other branches?
Yes. Search any item by brand, size or category and see stock in every store and godown.
Do contractor credit limits apply across branches?
Yes. Each contractor has one account for the whole chain, so their limit and dues are the same whichever branch they buy from.
Can we keep the same price lists in every store?
Yes. Price lists are set at head office and used in every branch. You can update thousands of rates from Excel in one go.
Do multiple units work in transfers too?
Yes. Transfer in boxes, pieces, kilos or metres, and stock is converted correctly at both ends.
Can branch staff change prices?
Only if you allow it. Set discount and price limits for each staff member or role.
What if our stores are in different states?
Each state has its own GSTIN in Milaan ERP. Transfers to a branch in another state go out on a tax invoice, transfers within the same state on a delivery challan, and GST reports are made separately for each GSTIN.
How much does it cost for a chain?
Cloud plans start at ₹12,999 per year before 18% GST, and multi-branch management is part of the higher plans. For chains, the price depends on the number of stores, counters and users, so we give you a quote that fits your setup. There is a free 7-day trial either way.
Can you bring in data from our old software?
Usually yes. If your current software can export items, stock and customers to Excel, our team will import it for every branch during setup.
