A plan on a whiteboard can’t warn you when it’s slipping
Most small factories plan production the same way: a whiteboard or an Excel sheet with this week’s orders, updated when someone remembers. The plan looks fine on Monday. By Wednesday, one order is waiting for material, another is stuck at polishing, and nobody has updated the board.
The real problem isn’t the plan. It is that the plan doesn’t know what is actually happening on the floor, so it can’t tell you when something is about to go wrong.

Job work & GST
When a stage happens outside your factory
Many factories send a stage of production outside: powder coating, polishing, printing or stitching. Under GST, that material must go on a job work challan and come back within the time limit, and the movement is reported in ITC-04.
In Milaan ERP, an outside stage is just another step in the work order. Material goes out on a job work challan, comes back with any wastage recorded, and the work order continues. The GST records build up as you work.

What is the difference between a work order and a job card?
A work order is the instruction to make a quantity of a product by a date. Job cards break it into stages, like cutting, assembly and polishing, so each stage can be tracked.
Can it check material before production starts?
Yes. Each work order compares what the BOM needs with stock and shows any shortage before you release it to the floor.
Can I see if the factory is overloaded?
Yes. The schedule shows what is already planned for each week, so you can see the load before promising a new due date.
Can I track rejections at each stage?
Yes. Record output and rejections on each job card. Rejected pieces can go back for rework or be written off as scrap.
Can some stages be done by a job worker?
Yes. Mark a stage as job work. Material goes out on a job work challan and comes back into the work order.
Does it calculate labour cost?
Yes. Hours and workers recorded on job cards are added up into the labour cost of each work order.
How much does it cost?
The offline desktop plan starts at ₹9,999 as a one-time payment and online cloud plans start at ₹12,999 per year, both before 18% GST. Features such as barcode billing, batch tracking, e-invoicing and multi-location are in the higher plans, so tell us what you need and we’ll suggest the right one.
Can you bring in our existing data?
Usually yes. If you have your items, raw materials, customers and opening stock in Excel or another software, our team will import them during setup. We also help you set up your first few BOMs.
